    The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) is Australia’s independent and trusted organisation for directors and business leaders dedicated to improving the quality of governance and directorship.  The largest director membership organisation in the world, AICD works to develop the skills and capabilities of leaders for the overall benefit of society.  This for purpose, national organisation with its state and territory divisions exists to strengthen society through world-class governance.  On the ground services and support are provided to members across their lifetime as directors through governance and policy leadership, education and development services and collaborative networks amongst peers, partners and associates.

    Reporting to the national General Manager Engagement, the State Manager SA/NT works closely with the small local teams and the head office corporate team, to drive impact and engagement through membership growth, value creation and market share across AICD products and services.  The face of the AICD and senior representative in SA/NT, the State Manager is a key source of insight and support for members and clients as well as the principal management executive for the State Councils and Committees.  The State Manager SA/NT is also responsible for providing enterprise leadership for the Adelaide office, driving cultural alignment, and fostering a collaborative ‘One Team’ culture.

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • being the principal management representative for State Councils and Committees, and the face of the AICD for local political and chamber relationships across South Australia and the Northern Territory;
    • providing senior leadership and representation for members within South Australia and the Northern Territory;
    • identifying and driving initiatives to improve the member experience on an ongoing basis;
    • cultivating positive interactions and building trusted long-term relationships with members, developing a strong local network that drives membership growth in both South Australia and the Northern Territory;
    • providing relevant state or territory market insights to the Clients and Strategic Partnerships team to drive strategic goals;
    • maintaining an understanding of all AICD’s Education products and other service offerings;
    • ensuring a knowledge of the AICD’s public policy stance;
    • driving impact and engagement through support of the AICD national events program;
    • influencing the staff within their State or Territory to work collaboratively as one team;.
    • driving cultural alignment, through oversight of the employee experience, office safety, security and culture within their State or Territory.

    Applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified and experienced professionals with exceptional networking, stakeholder and relationship management skills and a strong background in B2B sales, marketing and development.  Extensive knowledge of governance principles and the ability to provide effective solutions on Board and C-suite governance issues, high level interpersonal and presentation skills and a self-directed working style will be important attributes.
