    ReturnToWorkSA is a statutory authority with circa 300 dedicated staff, plus external claims agents delivering services to provide early intervention support to injured workers and employers.  A highly purpose driven culture is fundamental to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives through the provision of a return to work insurance scheme for South Australia that reduces the social and economic impact of work injury on our community.  As the regulator of the Return to Work Scheme, the organisation plays a key role in protecting the integrity and fairness of the Scheme by ensuring compliance with the Act.

    Reporting to the Leader Enforcement, the Principal Advisor will fulfil a newly created role of trusted internal advisor and subject matter expert to enable strong governance and proper administration of processes associated with non-compliance.  The role will be responsible for:

    • building strong regulation by leading governance and compliance practices designed to foster effective organisational, employer and worker outcomes;
    • drafting findings and administrative letters for matters of identified non-compliance and preparing high quality briefings for delegates including the CEO and leadership team;
    • designing fit for purpose policy and programs and assisting with the delivery of training to support capability for the Scheme;
    • ensuring the quality and defensibility of matters pursued under the Remissions and Supplementary Payments Scheme (RASP) and leading negotiation of Commitments through strong interaction with stakeholders;
    • collaborating across the business unit to identify process improvement initiatives and efficiencies with a view to achieving excellent customer outcomes.

    Applications are encouraged from professionals with demonstrated ability to read, interpret and apply legislation and strong policy design acumen, ideally in a governance or compliance environment.  A highly collaborative working style together with experience in briefing senior leaders, building effective relationships and influencing key stakeholders will be important attributes for success.  Commitment to a culture of care, professional excellence and accountability and a focus on customer outcomes is essential.  Tertiary qualifications in law, industrial relations or a comparable field of experience will be considered relevant.

    Make an enquiry to explore this opportunity to create an important profile in a vital South Australian entity where respect, courtesy and collaboration prevail.  Flexible work options, attractive workplace conditions and the opportunity to consider 0.8 or full time are available.
