    A key branch of The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF), the South Australian Government Financing Authority (SAFA) functions as the central financing authority, captive insurer and manager of the passenger and light commercial vehicle fleet operations for the Government of South Australia.  The agency plays a vital role in the overall management of the State’s finances and risks, harnessing economies of scale and relevant expertise to provide a range of treasury, insurance and fleet services to public sector clients.

    Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager, Marketing & Communications plays a crucial role in brand and marketing positioning of SAFA and its products and services in the domestic and global marketplaces in which it operates.  The appointee will work in collaboration with the DTF central strategic communications team, in particular the Manager Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, in the implementation of an overall SAFA Marketing and Communications strategy.

    Areas of responsibility include:

    • continual enhancement of SAFA’s brand positioning with external stakeholders;
    • development and leadership of a marketing strategy incorporating stakeholder segmentation, relationship management, tools, channels and supporting infrastructure;
    • driving positive stakeholder relationships and engagement to facilitate mutually beneficial outcomes with diverse and high level global investors, banks, insurers and others;
    • coordinating development of high quality corporate promotional literature consistent with SAFA’s corporate identity;
    • research and development of strategic communications opportunities that continue to support and enhance SAFA’s reputation amongst key stakeholders.

    Applications are invited from experienced and qualified marketing communications professionals with extensive knowledge of contemporary practice and demonstrated skills in developing, implementing and evaluating large, complex and sensitive engagement strategies and projects.  Account management experience in marketing or advertising consultancy and exceptional interpersonal communications skills to interact with senior government and non-government leaders in a global marketplace will be advantageous.  An understanding of finance, insurance or investor relations sectors will be well regarded but is not considered essential.
