    WHAT IF YOU COULD MAKE AN IMPACT THAT LASTS A LIFETIME?

     ‘What if?’ – these two words speak to the Immanuel College ethos and way of teaching, always supporting students to discover their endless possibilities.

    With a proud and rich 130-year history, Immanuel College is a private independent co-educational day and boarding school for over 1100 students in Years 7-12.  Located in Adelaide, in the leafy suburb of Novar Gardens, just five minutes from pristine beaches and ten minutes from Adelaide’s city centre, the school is renowned for its vibrant, innovative academic community and its leading-edge facilities.

    Immanuel’s modern Boarding House has its place in the heart of the campus providing much more than just accommodation. Co-ed boarding is a family-style environment for around 170 students who grow and share together in a supported journey to independence.  Following the recent internal appointment of the incumbent to the Director of Boarding position, a unique opportunity presents for an experienced manager with an affinity for leadership in a people focused environment to join this highly experienced and trusted team of dedicated residential care professionals.

    Supporting the Director of Boarding, the Deputy Director is instrumental in fostering a safe, supporting, and enriching living and learning environment for boarding students.  The Deputy Director oversees day-to-day operations of the facilities, ensures well-being and academic success of students and drives programs and policies that promote both a strong sense of community and personal growth among boarders.

    Key areas of responsibility for the Deputy Director include:

    • acting in a pivotal position for effective liaison among students, parents and school staff to facilitate the holistic development of each student within the boarding school setting;
    • leading and managing a sizeable team of boarding house staff in the delivery of a positive, Christian and caring residential environment for students;
    • closely connecting with teaching and professional staff to deliver boarding house programs and services that support the achievement of required educational outcomes;
    • working with Boarding House Leaders and Health Centre staff to support the health and well-being of boarding students;
    • administering management practices that ensure effective operations and communications with parents and other care providers.

    Applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified and experienced leaders able to demonstrate the ability to provide consistent and considerate supervision of adolescents and young adults.  Profiles from comparable residential settings and/or more diverse domains are both welcome.  At Immanuel, you can be part of a community that encourages students to challenge the status quo, to be brave and take chances, and find new ways to unlock their limitless potential.

    The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership is critical, together with the credibility and passion to contribute meaningfully to College-wide activities.  Key qualities sought include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an aptitude for engaging with people from different social, ethnic, economic and cultural backgrounds, integrity, honesty and energy.

    An appropriate remuneration package including a generous accommodation allowance will be negotiated to secure an accomplished appointee.
