Located at Mitchell Park, Suneden Specialist School is a low-fee R-12 independent school for students with intellectual disabilities.  It is highly regarded in the community as a leader in the field of special education and provides a safe, caring and supportive learning environment where its 70 students can learn, grow and shine.  The team of dedicated staff works in partnership with families to provide the best possible educational experiences to support all students to reach their full potential and prepare them for life after school.

Reporting to the Co-Principals and working closely with the experienced Board, the newly created role Business Manager is accountable for the business and financial affairs of the School.  Key responsibilities of this hands-on role include:

• strategic and operational business and financial management including ICT systems;
• financial and business advice to the Principals;
• human resources management including payroll, workers’ compensation and industrial advice;
• systems and records management;
• risk management and compliance;
• property and project management including contractor engagement and performance;
• supervision of a finance/payroll officer.

Applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified professionals ideally with CA/CPA status and demonstrated experience in a comparable corporate/business services position.  Financial acumen, contemporary people management skills, stakeholder relationship capability, authenticity, maturity, energy, empathy and integrity will be key qualities for success in this position.  Prior experience in the education or human services sectors may be an advantage but is not essential.  More important will be the ability and willingness to support the values, ethos and mission of this unique School.  Candidates seeking either full time employment or 0.8 are welcome to apply.
